They Released Her Too Early

Britney was released from the UCLA psych ward, according to the LA Times and TMZ. The hospital was no longer required to hold her after 11:30 this morning, and somehow Brit found out and got away.

According to the paper, Spears slipped quietly out — compared to the massive fanfare that went on the night she went in. A law enforcement source tells TMZ the hospital let her go “because she was no longer required to stay there after 11:30 AM.” We have not confirmed this independently, however, if the hospital decides Britney is no longer a danger to herself or others, the hospital loses its basis to hold her against her will.

It was unclear where she was going, but sources said she might head to one of her homes before seeking additional treatment. Unlike the spectacle surrounding her trip to the Westwood medical facility last week, she slipped out with relatively little fanfare. A private security detail escorted her in contrast to last week when more than a dozen Los Angeles police officers escorted Spears to the hospital via motorcade.
