I wonder how ol’ Rush-man feels after a scary encounter with crippling thoracic chest pain! The 58-year-old talk show host was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in Hawaii on Wednesday, phoning for assistance after pulmonary aches rendered him immobile, slumped in a chair on the ninth floor of the Kahala Resort in Honolulu.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort. Limbaugh, 58, suffered from chest pains, sources said. Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said.

Limbaugh underwent treatment in ‘03 for an addiction to prescription painkillers, including Lorcet, Norco and hydrocodone. Limbaugh’s radio show is broadcast on more than 600 stations nationwide to nearly 14 million listeners. He is also a best-selling author.

Once dubbed the “the voice and the intellectual force and the energy behind the Republican Party,” surely you can’t help but wonder how large a percentage those cheering death, trumps that of any happy people after survival news broke. Once an addict…one helluva weathered organ!
