For a second there I questioned how Jamie Lynn Spears, whom, impregnated at 16, was within legal boundaries to partake in sexual intercourse, in addition to her very public pregnancy news. Quickly recalling Jamie’s roots, yee-haw Louisiana, I realized the law probably allows (and encourages) such a thing. The now 17-year-old Nickelodeon star delivered a baby girl this morning (strangely, in Mississippi instead) naming the child Maddie Briann. Thankfully the Spears family is rich, or I’d feel completely sorry for this kid, however, all bets are off she grows up normal!
PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann. “Just the family was there,” says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. “Everyone is healthy and happy.” Jamie Lynn’s sister Britney, father Jamie and brother Bryan flew in Wednesday to be with her for the birth; her mother Lynne had been with her helping her get ready for the baby.
