Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Bollea faced his felony charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury today, getting off quite slick with just 8 months in the county slammer for putting his best friend, John Graziano in a vegetative state for life. In addition to jail, Judge Philip Federico handed out 5 years community service/probation to keep Nick in check, along with suspending all driving privileges for 3 years. Keep note of the date — you’ll be safe on the roads until his 21st birthday…perfect timing, right?
The accident was dubbed a “series of conscious choices leading to unintended consequences” by Mr. Federico when handing down the sentence — something he also noted carried “no magic answer.” That means he used explicit discretion (marred by green haze) when pondering a fit punishment for little Nicky. After his jail stint ends, 100 hours per month for the next half-decade will be occupied by volunteer work, in addition to any probationary stipulations like no drinking, drugs, or idiotic behavior. Nick will probably do all that stuff anyways — hopefully they catch him violating!
I wonder how much cash Poppa Hulkster fed into the Pinellas County judicial system? That’s besides whatever insane amount the defense eventually totals. Although, when you’re made of money you can buy anything you want — including your way out of hard prison time!
As usual, TMZ is on scene and broadcasting from the courtroom. Check out the breaking story for more details and reactions, plus access to view the live feed (if you’re early enough.)
