The investigation by Nashville police into the murder of former NFL great Steve McNair has declared his 20-year-old lover Sahel Kazemi as the lone shooter. Forensics evidence puts residue on Sahel’s hands from the gun she purchased (just weeks prior) was found under her body at the scene.
Detectives deduced she crept up upon a sleeping McNair before firing two rounds through his skull, along with two more through the chest in a cold-blooded murderous crime, cowardly to boot… Sahel quickly followed with suicide as she took a seat on the couch next to Steve’s body and pumped a life-ending round into her head. Listen to the 911 call above just released by the Nashville Police, as McNair’s friends who discovered the brutal scene frantically attempt to summon authorities.
Police Chief Ronal Serpas said at a news conference that he believed McNair, the 36-year-old former Tennessee Titans quarterback, was asleep on the sofa at his condominium early Saturday morning when Kazemi fired four shots, two to his head and two to his chest. He said she then sat down next to him and killed herself with a single shot to the head. Serpas said evidence at the scene and forensic tests showed that all five bullets were fired from Kazemi’s gun and showed gunpowder residue on her hands.
He said associates of Kazemi’s told investigators she was distraught recently. Kazemi apparently believed McNair was having a relationship with another woman and told a co-worker at Dave & Buster’s restaurant Friday night that she was considering suicide, Serpas said. “She told friends her life was so messed up that she was going to end it all,” Serpas said. “She believed her relationship with Mr. McNair was unraveling. There is evidence she was spinning out of control.”
Serpas said Kazemi’s friends told investigators she had apparently seen another woman recently leaving the condo McNair leased with a friend and followed her. She also had financial problems, including a roommate who was going to move out and leave her with a higher rent payment. Kazemi, a 20-year-old Iranian immigrant, began dating McNair about six months ago after they met at the restaurant where she works.
