Weezer filed a lawsuit against Miller Brewing Company, claiming they printed ads in Rolling Stone which featured the band to help promote alcoholic beverages. Apparently the group never authorized the use of their name, allegedly causing “millions in damage.” It was also noted that other rock groups were featured alongside the band that they wish to never be associated with.
I’m not sure about that amount they claim, but a good lawyer might get you a few hundred thousand. Weezer is not worth millions! If anything the free publicity helped sell more records. Frivolous!
